St. George

A peaceful area of classically natural beauty St George is one of two Barbados parishes which does not feature beaches or coastline. Here you will find characteristically English architecture, set amidst lush rolling countryside and fields of sugar cane. Inland is Gun Hill Signal Station, which was constructed by the British Army in 1818 and showcases wonderful views of the Parish and beyond. Whilst the popular farmers market at Brighton Plantation provides an idyllic setting in which to peruse locally made crafts, freshly caught seafood and carefully harvested fruits.

St. George is also home to Orchid World, which showcases a beautiful and attentively curated collection of rare and exotic orchids.
